Hello germana:

From which server are downloading iso files and pet packages?
Did you check the md5sum of the downloaded iso file?

Yes! i check the md5sum....

But i think boby does not work in 256RAM because it has OpenOffice packages and that must increase the RAM requirements...

Kernel Panic on running Live CD distro caused by the "kill init" when the kernel with initrd were not able to mount squashfs, it could be caused by a bad block CD filesystem or the Live CD running on old machine. I also got this case when I try running puppy 4.3 Live CD on SIS PC Pentium 443 Mhz with 256 MB SDRAM, where puppy 4.1.2 Live CD just running very well.

Then I try experiment "manual frugal install" as follow:

1. decompress puppy 4.3 from it's ISO.
2. Put it on an Ext2/Ext3 partition on folder as "psubdir" named like "puppy"
3. Add blank file name "IDEHD" on puppy psubdir
4. Add grub boot option on menu.lst to boot to such frugal puppy installation.

Hi... puppy 4.3 can running well on Pentium 443 with only 256 MB SDRAM with this "manual frugal installation"!
So, I think this just a problem with running puppy 4.3 from Live CD on old PC.

This also happen to the other running Live CD distro's such Ubuntu 8.04 and newer.
